- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 slices bacon, cut in half lengthwise
- 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons whiskey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wrap each shrimp with a half slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, whiskey, brown sugar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Place the bacon-wrapped shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the shrimp generously with the whiskey BBQ glaze.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the shrimp are cooked through.
- Brush with more glaze before serving, if desired.
Notes
- You can grill these instead of baking. Grill over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side.
- Adjust the amount of whiskey to your preference.
- Use thick-cut bacon for a crispier texture.
