- 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice oranges thinly and arrange in a greased cake pan.
- Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan, then pour over oranges.
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat eggs, milk, and vanilla, then combine with dry ingredients.
- Pour batter over oranges and bake for 35-40 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate.
