Description
Enjoy these delightful sweet crêpes as a festive treat this Christmas. They are light, slightly sweet, and perfect for filling with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Butter or oil for greasing the pan
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth. The batter should be thin.
- Heat a lightly oiled or buttered non-stick skillet or crêpe pan over medium heat.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet, tilting the pan to spread the batter evenly into a thin circle.
- Cook for about 1-2 minutes, until the edges start to lift and the bottom is lightly golden.
- Flip the crêpe and cook for another 30-60 seconds on the other side.
- Slide the crêpe onto a plate and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve warm with your desired toppings like whipped cream, fruit, or chocolate sauce.
Notes
- For thinner crêpes, you can add a little more milk to the batter.
- Let the batter rest for 15-30 minutes for best results, though it’s not strictly necessary.
- Make sure your pan is hot enough before adding the batter for even cooking.
