A delightful fusion of classic strawberry shortcake and rich cheesecake, baked into convenient and delicious cinnamon roll-style spirals.

- 1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam or preserves
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the seams together to form a rectangle.
- In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the dough.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly over the cinnamon-sugar layer.
- Spoon the strawberry jam over the cream cheese layer, then sprinkle with chopped fresh strawberries.
- Carefully roll up the dough lengthwise, starting from one of the longer sides, to form a log. Pinch the seam to seal.
- Cut the log into 8 equal slices.
- Place the slices cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
- Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly on the baking sheet before drizzling with the glaze.
Notes
- For a stronger strawberry flavor, you can add a few drops of strawberry extract to the cream cheese filling.
- Ensure the cream cheese is truly softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
- You can toast the chopped strawberries lightly before adding them for a slightly different texture.
