Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface.
  3. In a small bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
  5. Spoon the strawberry jam over the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Cut 1-inch wide strips along each long side of the pastry, angling them towards the center.
  7. Fold the strips over the filling, alternating sides to create a braided effect.
  8. Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
