Simple recipe for shrimp marinated in spices and grilled on skewers.

- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes if using.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, about 4-5 shrimp per skewer.
- Place the skewers on the hot grill.
- Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
Notes
- If you prefer, you can thread vegetables like bell peppers or onions onto the skewers with the shrimp.
- Do not overcook the shrimp; they become tough quickly.
