Ingredients

- 1 pound spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, diced
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
- While spaghetti is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and add oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Drain spaghetti and add it to the skillet with the sauce.
- Toss to combine.
- Stir in fresh basil and diced mozzarella.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use fresh tomatoes instead of canned.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
- Garnish with extra basil leaves before serving.
