Ingredients

  • 8 croissants, halved horizontally
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange the bottom halves of the croissants in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the diced ham and shredded cheeses evenly over the croissant bottoms.
  4. Place the top halves of the croissants over the ham and cheese.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants in the baking dish.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the casserole is set.
  9. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture.
  • If you don’t have Dijon mustard, regular yellow mustard can be used as a substitute.
  • This bake can be assembled the night before and refrigerated. Add an extra 5-10 minutes to the covered baking time if baking from cold.
