Description

A simple flatbread recipe featuring roasted pears and sharp Gorgonzola cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made flatbread crust (about 1012 inches)
  • 2 ripe pears, cored and thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  2. Place the sliced pears in a small bowl. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, half the honey, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Place the flatbread crust on a baking sheet. Brush the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the crust.
  4. Arrange the seasoned pear slices evenly over the flatbread.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled Gorgonzola cheese and chopped walnuts over the pears.
  6. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven. Drizzle the remaining honey over the top. Sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves.
  8. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute blue cheese for Gorgonzola if preferred.
  • For extra flavor, lightly toast the walnuts in a dry pan before adding them to the flatbread.
