Description
Pork Chop Supreme Recipe – a juicy, flavorful dish with a perfect sear. This step-by-step recipe ensures tender, well-seasoned pork chops every time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in pork chops (1–1.5 inches thick)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 crushed garlic cloves (for basting)
- Fresh rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic, smoked paprika, rosemary, black pepper, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
- Place the pork chops in a ziplock bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best results.
- Remove the pork chops from the fridge 20-30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
- Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the pan is hot, place the pork chops in without overcrowding.
- Sear for 3-5 minutes on the first side without moving them.
- Flip and sear for another 3-4 minutes.
- Add 2 crushed garlic cloves and fresh rosemary sprigs to the pan and baste the pork chops with the melted butter.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Once it reaches 140°F, remove the pork chops from heat.
- Let the pork chops rest for 5-10 minutes, loosely covered with foil, before serving.
- Garnish with fresh rosemary and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
Notes
- For extra thick pork chops (1.5 inches or more), finish them in a preheated 375°F oven for 5-10 minutes after searing.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach the ideal internal temperature of 145°F.
- Resting the pork chops after cooking keeps them juicy and prevents juices from running out when cut.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- For a smoky touch, add a pinch of cayenne or extra smoked paprika.
