Ingredients

- 1 pound pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Drain pasta and add to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can add cooked chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
- Add red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
- Fresh basil makes a nice garnish.
