Description
A simple grilled cheese sandwich with the addition of sliced pickles for a tangy flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices bread
- 2 slices cheese (cheddar or American recommended)
- 4–6 dill pickle chips
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
- Layer the cheese slices on the bread in the skillet.
- Place the pickle chips evenly over the cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Grill for 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and slice in half.
Notes
- Use firm pickles to prevent excess moisture in the sandwich.
- You can substitute mayonnaise for butter on the outside of the bread for a different browning texture.
