Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk, cooled coffee, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the cake cools, prepare the frosting. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the cooled coffee, until smooth and spreadable. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
- Sprinkle the remaining chopped nuts over the frosting.

- Ensure coffee is completely cooled before adding to batter and frosting.
- For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
- You can toast the nuts before adding them for a deeper flavor.
