Description
Crispy fried ravioli bites filled with melted mozzarella, perfect for a festive Christmas appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (20 ounce) package refrigerated ravioli
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Pat the ravioli dry with paper towels.
- Set up three shallow bowls. In the first, place the flour. In the second, whisk the eggs. In the third, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Dredge each ravioli first in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured ravioli into the whisked eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Finally, coat the ravioli with the panko mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the ravioli in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried ravioli with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure ravioli are completely dry before breading for best adhesion.
- Do not overcrowd the frying pot, as this will lower the oil temperature and result in greasy ravioli.
- Adjust frying time based on your desired level of crispiness.
