Description
A light and flavorful Filipino soup made with misua noodles, patola (sponge gourd), and shrimp.
Ingredients

- 4 cups water or shrimp stock
- 200g misua noodles
- 1 medium patola (sponge gourd), peeled and sliced
- 200g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
- 1 tsp cooking oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and cook until slightly pink.
- Pour in water or shrimp stock and bring to a boil.
- Add patola and simmer for 3-5 minutes until tender.
- Add misua noodles and cook for 2 minutes or until soft.
- Season with fish sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overcook misua as it becomes mushy.
- Use fresh shrimp for better flavor.
- Adjust fish sauce according to taste.
