  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  7. In a medium bowl, combine the streusel ingredients: flour, brown sugar, walnuts, melted butter, cinnamon, and maple extract. Mix until well combined.
  8. Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the cake batter.
