- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water or coffee
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Gradually stir in the hot water or coffee until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use hot coffee instead of water.
- You can add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans to the batter.
- The cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
