Description
Fresh homemade guacamole made with ripe avocados, lime juice, red onion, tomato, and cilantro. A bold, flavorful dip perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- Salt, to taste
- Optional: 1 jalapeño, minced (seeds removed for less heat)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Use a fork to mash the avocados, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Stir in the chopped red onion, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeño if using.
- Add fresh lime juice and salt to taste, then stir until well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve immediately or store with plastic wrap pressed against the surface.
Notes
- Use ripe avocados that yield slightly to pressure for the best texture.
- For extra freshness, add a thin layer of lime juice or water before storing to prevent browning.
- You can customize the flavor with garlic, mango, bacon, or extra lime.
- Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, toast, or veggies for dipping.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
