Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
