- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, peeled and diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with milk and butter. Season with salt and pepper.
- While potatoes are boiling, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add onion, carrots, and celery to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Spoon the turkey mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Top evenly with the mashed potatoes, spreading them to cover the turkey filling. You can create decorative peaks with a fork if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

- For a richer topping, you can add shredded cheddar cheese or a dollop of sour cream to the mashed potatoes.
- Add a cup of frozen peas or corn to the turkey filling for extra vegetables.
