A sweet and comforting peach cobbler recipe, just like Grandma used to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Pour into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  4. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peach mixture.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Using fresh, ripe peaches will give you the best flavor.
  • You can use frozen peaches, but thaw and drain them first.
