A sweet and comforting peach cobbler recipe, just like Grandma used to make.

- 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Pour into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peach mixture.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Using fresh, ripe peaches will give you the best flavor.
- You can use frozen peaches, but thaw and drain them first.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
