Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
