Ingredients

- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (350g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla.
- Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix well.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough portions onto baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Notes
- For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- Dough can be frozen for later use.
