These gooey chocolate chip cookies are a perfect treat for Christmas. They are soft, chewy, and packed with chocolate.
Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake them.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
- You can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough for a festive flavor.
