  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
