- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Wash the okra and trim off the ends.
- Blanch the okra in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
- Immediately transfer the okra to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain well.
- Cut the blanched okra into bite-sized pieces.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and white vinegar to make the dressing.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped okra and the dressing. Toss gently to coat.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a milder flavor, you can soak the blanched okra in cold water for 10 minutes before cutting.
- Adjust the sweetness and tanginess of the dressing to your preference.
- You can add other vegetables like sliced red onions or bell peppers for extra crunch and color.
