Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus more for greasing
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Butter and flour four 6-ounce ramekins.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  3. Whisk in powdered sugar until combined.
  4. Whisk in eggs and egg yolks one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in flour until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 10-14 minutes, or until edges are firm but center is soft.
  8. Invert cakes onto plates and serve immediately.
