Simple and quick lava cakes perfect for a decadent dessert.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus more for greasing
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Butter and flour four 6-ounce ramekins.
- Melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
- Whisk in powdered sugar until combined.
- Whisk in eggs and egg yolks one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Stir in flour until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 10-14 minutes, or until edges are firm but center is soft.
- Invert cakes onto plates and serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overbake the cakes, or the center will not be molten.
- You can dust the finished cakes with powdered sugar or serve with ice cream.
