- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups Swiss chard, chopped (stems removed)
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Press the pie crust into a pie plate.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add the chopped Swiss chard and cook until wilted, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess liquid.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked Swiss chard mixture, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and beaten egg. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can add other cheeses like mozzarella or Gruyere for extra flavor.
- Consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the filling for a warm spice note.
- This pie can be served warm or at room temperature.
