A rich dark chocolate tart infused with bright orange zest.
Ingredients

- 1 pre-made tart shell
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- 150ml heavy cream
- 50g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon orange extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the tart shell on a baking sheet.
- In a heatproof bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and heavy cream.
- Gently heat the mixture over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the softened butter, orange zest, and orange extract (if using) until well combined.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared tart shell.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly soft in the center.
- Let the tart cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a glossy finish, you can brush the top of the tart with a little melted apricot jam once cooled.
- Garnish with fresh orange slices or chocolate shavings if desired.
