Description
Easy and delicious lasagna made in a slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Layer with 3 lasagna noodles (breaking to fit), half of the ricotta mixture, and 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until noodles are tender.
- Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can use no-boil lasagna noodles if preferred. Adjust cooking time as needed.
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of red wine to the meat sauce.
