- 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and onion into a large bowl.
- Squeeze out excess liquid from the grated mixture.
- Add the egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Spoon portions of the mixture into the pan, flattening them into pancakes.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
- Squeezing out the liquid ensures crispiness.
- Serve with sour cream or applesauce.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven.
