Description
Simple recipe for making crispy cauliflower bites coated in buffalo sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a medium bowl.
- Whisk in cold water until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting excess drip off.
- Carefully place battered florets into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry for 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove cauliflower with a slotted spoon and place on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the buffalo sauce and melted butter.
- Place the hot, crispy cauliflower in a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce mixture over the cauliflower and toss gently to coat evenly.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For an air-fried version, spray coated cauliflower with cooking spray and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
