  • 4 cups whole milk

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a saucepan, combine rice, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Slowly add the beaten egg while stirring continuously.
  5. Cook for another 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in butter.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer taste, use half milk and half heavy cream.
  • If the pudding thickens too much, add a splash of milk to loosen it.
