Description

A simple recipe for a creamy chai tea latte made with coconut milk.


Ingredients

  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 8 oz water
  • 4 oz coconut milk (full fat recommended)
  • 1 tsp sweetener (honey or maple syrup)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat water in a small saucepan until simmering.
  2. Remove from heat and steep the chai tea bag for 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bag.
  4. In a separate small saucepan, gently heat the coconut milk until warm, do not boil.
  5. Stir the sweetener into the warm coconut milk until dissolved.
  6. Pour the brewed chai tea into a mug.
  7. Pour the warm coconut milk mixture over the tea.
  8. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon if desired.

Notes

  • For a stronger chai flavor, use 1.5 tea bags.
  • You can froth the coconut milk separately for a foam top.
