- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Press half of the cookie dough into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the cookie dough base.
- Crumble the remaining cookie dough over the cream cheese filling.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is lightly golden.
- Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a festive touch, sprinkle with red and green sprinkles before baking.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
