Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, peanuts, cashews)
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries)
  • 1/4 cup seeds (pumpkin or sunflower)
  • 1/2 cup pretzels or cereal pieces
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the nuts, dried fruit, seeds, and pretzels or cereal pieces. Mix well.
  3. Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl.
  4. Melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate over the trail mix mixture. Stir gently until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small clusters.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
  8. Store the clusters in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can substitute any type of chocolate, such as milk or dark chocolate.
  • For a firmer cluster, chill the mixture before coating if your nuts are oily.
