Description
Creamy soup with chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese.

- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup chopped cooked chicken
- 1 cup chopped cooked ham
- 1 cup cubed Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese.
- Stir until cheese is melted.
- Stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat through but do not boil.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- You can use leftover cooked chicken or a rotisserie chicken.
- Adjust the amount of ham and cheese to your liking.
- For a thicker soup, use more flour.
