Description

Simple recipe for cold, prepared oats with cherries and almonds.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dried or frozen cherries
  • 1 tablespoon sliced almonds
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine rolled oats, milk, chia seeds, and vanilla extract in a jar or container.
  2. Stir well to mix all ingredients.
  3. Fold in the cherries.
  4. Cover the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  5. In the morning, stir the oats. Add maple syrup if you desire sweetness.
  6. Top with sliced almonds before serving.

Notes

  • If using frozen cherries, they will thaw overnight and release juice into the oats.
