Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the orzo pasta. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted and combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can add your favorite burger toppings like pickles, ketchup, or mustard.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
