Prepare this simple, no-cook breakfast the night before for a quick morning meal.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1 teaspoon caramel extract or 1 teaspoon caramel sauce
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, and cocoa powder in a jar or container.
  2. Pour in the milk, cooled coffee, maple syrup, caramel extract (or sauce), and salt.
  3. Stir all ingredients together until well mixed.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. In the morning, stir the oats again. Add a splash more milk if the consistency is too thick for your liking.
  6. Serve cold.

Notes

  • For topping, add a drizzle of caramel sauce or chopped nuts before eating.
