Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread the batter evenly into a greased 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Arrange the sliced apples over the batter.
- In a small bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
