Description
These bars combine a creamy cheesecake filling with sweet caramel and tart apples on a buttery crust.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped apples
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Press mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour cream cheese mixture over the baked crust.
- Scatter chopped apples over the cream cheese layer.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is almost set.
- Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, use a sharp knife dipped in hot water.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
