- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, beaten eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture. Whisk until just combined and smooth. Do not overmix.
- Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the center is mostly set but still has a slight jiggle.
- Cool the pie completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
- For a slightly firmer texture, you can add a small amount of nutmeg to the filling mixture.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
