Description
Simple recipe for crispy baked cauliflower florets coated in barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Slowly whisk in the water until you have a smooth, thin batter.
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting excess drip off.
- Place the battered florets on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- While baking, mix the barbecue sauce and olive oil in a small bowl.
- Remove the cauliflower from the oven. Toss the baked florets gently with the barbecue sauce mixture until coated.
- Return the coated florets to the baking sheet.
- Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly caramelized and the edges are crisp.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can bake the florets plain for 10 minutes before the first saucing step.
- Use your favorite brand of thick barbecue sauce.
