A comforting bread pudding made with ripe bananas and a rich caramel sauce.

- 1 loaf stale bread, cut into cubes
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and mashed bananas.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the wet ingredients over the bread and banana mixture. Gently stir to combine, ensuring all bread pieces are moistened. Let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the melted butter and half of the caramel sauce.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with extra caramel sauce or whipped cream.
- You can use day-old bread for best results.
