Ingredients

  • 1 loaf stale bread, cut into cubes
  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and mashed bananas.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients over the bread and banana mixture. Gently stir to combine, ensuring all bread pieces are moistened. Let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Stir in the melted butter and half of the caramel sauce.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.
