Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the mashed bananas until just combined.
  6. Stir in the cocoa powder until no streaks remain.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  8. Fold in the chopped nuts, if using.
